"Who shall pull the Sword from the Stone, is the Rightful King of England"

This is the inscription fronting a mysterious stone, in the oldest section of Merlin's enchanted forest. Young Guenevere, who is destined to one day marry King Arthur, has ventured out on a cold December night, and discovered the secret. After cleaning off a fresh blanket of snow, she decides to test the resolve of steel within granite.

Before an audience of woodland creatures, she gives the Sword Excalibur a mighty tug, and it is suddenly free in her hands.

The question is: should she put the sword back, and let Arthur pull it out in due time?

(The European Badger, known to his friends as Roger, is probably more interested in the possibility of something to eat...)
