Richard Finch and Harry Wayne Casey ("KC"), were two record company employees in Miami, who started to experiment with their own demo tapes. By 1973, they had formed their own group, but initial songs like "Sound Your Funky Horn" had limited success. It wasn't until their 1975 release of the self-titled KC and the Sunshine Band, and the sky-rocketing popularity of disco, that the band achieved international success. Their first huge hit was "That's the Way (I Like It)"

Personally, I chose "Boogie Shoes", because it still makes me smile after all these years. (Of minor interest - the Winter's College Student's Council managed to book KC and the Sunshine Band in the spring of 1976 for a dance - $10 admission. Back then we had no idea how big disco would become!)

Here is the group in their '70s glory. Rock on with your bad self... or is it Boogie 'til ya Puke?
