J'en ai Marre - Alizée, 2003
J'ai la peau douce |
Okay - this one is for the boys... Alizée (feminine form of "trade wind") is a French singer who got her start from winning the French talent show, Graines de Star. In 2001, Alizée was the highest selling female singer in France, also enjoying the number one chart position in other parts of Europe. To date, she has sold more than five million albums and singles around the world. The song you're listening to, J'en ai Marre, is roughly translated here, but I gather the title translates to something along the lines of "I'm fed up". Trained in classical dance, Alizée spends much of her time doing charity work, even using concerts to raise money for the poor. She has conducted a scandal-free life, distancing herself from such American counter-parts as Britney Spears. However, she has obviously been marketed for her sex appeal as is clearly shown in this live performance video of J'en ai Marre. You have to admire all that classical dancing! Sorry, guys - she recently got married. |
