This figure was done four years ago as a special request from my mom. She suggested I do a cowboy; but not the Hollywood version, the real cowboy of western Canada. I researched this quite thoroughly, knowing that my own grandfather was of a similar ilk. He used to take parties of city-folk up into the Rockies. They would all go on horseback, of course, and camp out for days at a time. I guess people wanted to get away from the city, even back in 1920. This feller has all the fixin's: a proper hat, workin' chaps, a good solid mustache, and his trusty rope. You will notice that he is NOT carrying a sidearm... The fire is made from a day-glow orange, and I think it looks like hot embers. The background that I used for my scenic and moon-light shots, is a painting that my mom did! This is quite the family production, now that I think about it...Hey, let's serve up that tin 'o beans! |
